Digital Morven Farm
3D cultural-informatics documentation of the historic core buildings and landscape at Morven, including the Old Kitchen, Claims House, point-cloud work, scan planning, and architectural interpretation.
Project
This work documents Morven’s historic core through terrestrial laser scanning, point clouds, architectural observation, and digital representation. The project uses measured evidence to study buildings and landscape while keeping the long history of the site visible: Indigenous presence, plantation history, agricultural change, and Morven’s later life as a University of Virginia property.
Historic context
Morven’s history includes Indigenous occupation, tenant farming, plantation agriculture, twentieth-century estate use, and its present role as a University of Virginia property and sustainability laboratory.
